Old Grand-Dad is a staple of the Jim Beam portfolio. The bottled-in-bond expression is an excellent addition to any liquor cabinet because you can drink it three ways: neat, on the rocks, or in a cocktail. It's more tempered than the 114 proof OGD, but delivers all of the same flavors: cinnamon, brown sugar and rye spice. Besides, a one-liter bottle at this price: The value is undeniable.

Bottle Size 1 Liter

  • Age NAS (4-5 years old)

OGD Bonded > Evan Williams White Label

People say Evan Williams white label is the best cocktail bourbon, but i disagree. It's Old Grand-Dad Bonded for me. OGD has contrasting flavors like cinnamon, cane sugar and vanilla, and that works better for a wider range of cocktails than Evan Williams which is kind of a one-trick pony.

Part Of The Holy Trinity of Value Bourbons

I have a soft-spot for affordable bourbons and OGD has always been one of my favorites. I think of this living somewhere between Evan Williams BIB and Wild Turkey 101 and swap out between the three. For a cocktails, there's no substitute and in the summer I like it over ice. Glad to see it for sale here along with higher end bottles.
