This cask-strength Hirsch bourbon is a unique collaboration between Hirsch Selected Whiskeys and Hine Cognac. It's made from 6-year-old bourbon produced in Bardstown, Kentucky (cough... Willett Distillery), that's finished for 18 months in 30-year-old XO cognac casks. The finishing brings hints of cherry and charred citrus to the nose, and ripe stone fruit and fresh raisins to the palate. At 127 proof, you're getting all the boldness this whiskey has to offer.

Definitely worth the price tag

You don't see a lot of high proof bourbons finished in cognac. As a fan of cognac finishes, I wanted to try it out, but was reluctant to buy because of the price. So I waited for payday and took a leap of faith. I'm glad I did. Super tasty with some sweetness from the cognac. It has a lot of kick from the proof. The flavors don't fade if you drink it on a cube.

Worst kept secret in bourbon.

This is basically the Willett Family Estate 6 Year at a 3rd of the price and just as good.
