Preservation Distillery has released several award-winning whiskies that have sent collectors on the hunt. This bourbon was sourced from Kentucky's fabled, and long-shuttered, Stitzel-Weller Distillery and shares a wheated mash bill with another legendary brand. Wink. Distilled in 1981, this bourbon was aged for 17 years, then vatted for several years before being bottled in 2022. It has licorice, caramel and tobacco on the nose with a palate featuring layers of anise, baked black cherries, and smoked wood. A few batches were made - mostly at 108.3 proof. This bottle comes from a more limited batch which was bottled at 107.9 proof.
