The Tequila Sunrise Looks Fancy, But It's Simple To Make
Hailing from the debaucherous heyday of the 1970s, the Tequila Sunrise is more than just a cheesy Eagles song. Its gradient hues are easy to achieve because the drink is made from three simple ingredients. Though variations like the Pineapple Sunrise and Corona Sunrise exist, the classic version, is our favorite, because you get that sweet kick of tequila and it's so easy to make.
Ingredients
- 2 oz Tequila
- 4 oz Orange Juice
- 1/2 oz Grenadine
- Ice cubes
Tequila Sunrise Recipe
- Fill a glass with ice cubes. Pour in the tequila and orange juice. Stir gently to combine.
- Slowly add the grenadine to the center of the glass, allowing it to sink and create the sunrise effect.
Pro-Tip To achieve a more pronounced sunrise effect, use chilled orange juice and gently pour the grenadine into the glass over the back of a spoon. Feel free to load up the garnishes with everything from cherries to strawberries.
Hot Remix Spice up a classic Tequila Sunrise by adding a splash of rum. The addition of rum infuses the cocktail with a tropical twist that'll transport you to a beachside paradise.
